Is this rifle compatible with aftermarket stocks and chassis?
Yes. The T3X CTR uses the same footprint as standard T3x actions, so it fits most aftermarket stocks and chassis from KRG, MDT, and others. The 10-round magazine requires a chassis with AICS long-action magazine well or Tikka CTR inlet. We’ve fitted these into several chassis here in the shop — no issues.
Does the 20″ barrel affect velocity compared to a 24″ barrel?
You lose about 50-75 fps with the shorter barrel, but you gain maneuverability and suppressor compatibility. In 6.5 Creedmoor, that’s still plenty for hitting steel at 1000 yards. We’ve shot this exact model at 800 yards with factory Hornady 140-grain ELD-M — held sub-MOA.
Can I use standard Tikka T3x magazines with the CTR?
No. The CTR uses a specific 10-round steel magazine that is not interchangeable with standard 3-round or 5-round T3x magazines. Spare magazines are available separately and we stock them.
