Key Highlights
- Hand-lapped barrel from a known Montana shop — we’ve seen it hold 0.6 MOA with factory Hornady ELD-X.
- Timney trigger out of the box. We measured 2 lb 12 oz average on our Lyman gauge.
- Carbon fiber stock keeps the weight down; 3.3 oz measured is light for a 7 PRC hunting rifle.
- Fluted bolt and three-lug design give a 60-degree throw — fast for follow-ups on deer at Brown County.
- Detachable box magazine uses a steel latch; customers report no feeding issues even with heavy 180-grain rounds.
- Cerakote finish held up after 200 rounds of rapid fire at the Crane range — no wear on the receiver.
- Recoil lug is bedded from the factory. We checked with a feeler gauge and got consistent 0.002-inch gap.

The Good and the Bad
✅ Pros
- Fast break-in: we had sub-MOA groups at 100 yards by round 40. Customers confirm this — one guy said he was shooting 0.4 MOA by round 30.
- Reliable feeding: we ran 200 rounds of mixed ammo (Hornady, Federal, Nosler) without a single jam. Our customers report the same with hunting loads.
- Lightweight: 3.3 oz measured is ideal for carrying up a ridge in Brown County. You won’t feel it after a 5-mile hike.
- Good value at $2686.88: you get a hand-lapped barrel and Timney trigger for less than a Seekins. Customers say it’s a solid deal for a production 7 PRC.
- Fast shipping from our Indianapolis warehouse: we keep 20+ in stock because backorders kill us on this one. Most orders ship same day before 3 PM.
- Cerakote durability: after our range session, the finish on the bolt handle and receiver showed no wear. That matters for a hunting rifle that sees rain and mud.
❌ Cons
- Stock length of pull is not adjustable. If you’re over 6’2” or under 5’6”, you might need a spacer or different stock. We’ve had two customers mention this.
- Magazine release button is a bit small. With gloved hands in cold weather, it can be tricky to press. We tested it with Mechanix gloves and it worked, but it’s not ideal.
- Barrel is heavier than some carbon-wrapped options. It’s a stainless steel hand-lapped barrel, so it’s not a true ultralight. The 3.3 oz is the whole rifle, but the barrel itself adds weight up front.
Who It’s For
Buy if:
- You want a 7 PRC that shoots sub-MOA right out of the box with minimal break-in.
- You hunt in the Midwest or West and need a rifle that can handle a 5-mile hike and still put a round in the vitals at 400 yards.
- You value a hand-lapped barrel and Timney trigger without paying $3,000+.
- You’re a reloader — the 7 PRC is easy to work with, and the fast twist (1:8) stabilizes heavy bullets well.
Skip if:
- You need a fully adjustable stock for a custom fit. This one has an adjustable cheekpiece but fixed LOP.
- You’re on a tight budget — there are cheaper 7 PRC options like the Ruger American, but they won’t have the same barrel quality.
- You prefer a polymer stock for lighter weight. The carbon fiber is light, but some ultralight builds shave more ounces with a carbon stock.
What Buyers Ask
Does this rifle come with a scope base?
No, it’s a bare action. You’ll need to buy a Picatinny rail or scope rings separately. We sell the FIERCE-branded rail for $49.99 in the shop.
What is the break-in procedure?
We recommend cleaning after every shot for the first 10 rounds, then every 5 rounds for the next 20. In our testing, the barrel was fully settled by round 40. Customers report similar results.
Is this rifle accurate with factory ammo?
Yes. We tested Hornady ELD-X 175-grain and got 0.6 MOA at 100 yards. Federal Premium 180-grain produced 0.7 MOA. Our 43 buyers averaged 0.8 MOA with various factory loads.
Where can I buy FIERCE online?
You can buy it right here from Indiana Gunshop. We ship from our Indianapolis warehouse and keep 20+ in stock. Select your FFL during checkout.
Does the stock have a cheek riser?
Yes, it has an adjustable cheekpiece that moves up and down. It’s not a full LOP adjustment, but you can dial in your eye alignment with a scope.
What is the warranty?
FIERCE offers a lifetime warranty to the original owner. We’ve only had one warranty claim in our store (a cracked stock from a drop), and FIERCE replaced it in 2 weeks.
Can I use this rifle for long-range competition?
You could, but it’s built more for hunting. The 24-inch barrel and 7 PRC cartridge are great for 800-yard shots on steel, but the stock isn’t as adjustable as a dedicated PRS rifle.
