Description
This is the Savage Arms Axis 2 Pro Western in 25-06 Remington, set up for left-handed shooters. It’s a factory-built hunting rifle that gives you a 20-inch barrel, a 4+1 capacity, and the AccuTrigger system for a clean break. We’ve been stocking this model since early 2026, and repeat customers keep coming back for it—they know it’s a reliable, accurate shooter that doesn’t break the bank. If you’re a lefty looking for a solid, no-nonsense rifle for deer or varmints, this is it.
Key Highlights
- Left-Hand Action: Built specifically for left-handed shooters, with the bolt and ejection port on the correct side. No more reaching across or dealing with brass in your face.
- AccuTrigger: Adjustable trigger lets you dial in pull weight from 2.5 to 6 pounds. It’s crisp and consistent—no creep, no surprises.
- 20-Inch Barrel: Short enough to maneuver in brush or a tree stand, but still long enough to get good velocity out of the 25-06 round. We’ve seen this combo shoot sub-MOA with factory ammo.
- Detachable Box Magazine: 4+1 capacity, easy to load and unload. No fumbling with internal mags when you’re in a hurry.
- Pro Western Stock: Textured grip panels and a matte finish that holds up in wet weather. It’s no-nonsense, just like the rest of the rifle.

What Buyers Ask
Does this rifle come with scope bases or rings?
It comes with a factory-installed one-piece scope base, but no rings. You’ll need to pick up a set of rings for your scope. We stock several options here—just give us a call or check the accessories section.
I’ve heard the bolt can be stiff. Is that normal?
Yes, it’s normal on a new Axis 2. The bolt will smooth out after a few dozen cycles. One customer returned one because it was “too tight,” but it turned out he had an aftermarket frame that didn’t fit right. On the OEM stock, it works fine. Just run it a bit and it’ll loosen up.
Is the 25-06 good for elk or just deer?
The 25-06 is a flat-shooting round that’s excellent for deer, antelope, and varmints. For elk, it’s marginal—you’d need a heavy bullet and careful shot placement. Most guys use it for deer-sized game and love it. If you’re after elk, you’d be better off with a .270 or .30-06.
