Is this rifle accurate out of the box?
Yes. We’ve seen sub-MOA groups from several customers using factory ammo. The free-floated barrel and adjustable trigger help a lot. It’s not a custom build, but it’s consistent for a production rifle at this price point.
Does the Vortex scope hold zero on this rifle?
It does. The Vortex Crossfire II is a solid entry-level scope. We’ve mounted and bore-sighted several of these combos, and they hold zero through normal hunting use. The rings included are decent, but if you plan on heavy recoil loads, you might upgrade the rings.
Can I use this for elk or larger game with the 25-06?
The 25-06 is best for deer, antelope, and varmints. For elk, you’d want a heavier bullet and careful shot placement — it’s not the ideal choice. Most buyers use it for whitetail and coyotes. If you need something bigger, look at the 30-06 or 7mm Rem Mag.
