Key Highlights
This is the Christensen Ridgeline FFT in .30-06 with a 22-inch threaded barrel and burnt bronze Cerakote. We’ve had these on our shelves since fall 2025, and every one goes through our visual QC before it ships. The machining is clean—no burrs, no uneven gaps between stock and receiver. The burnt bronze finish has held up well in our handling; no flaking or thin spots around the muzzle threads or bolt handle.
We measured the rifle at 5.6 lbs on our bench scale, which includes the carbon fiber stock and threaded barrel. That weight makes it a solid choice for carrying up in Brown County during deer season or hiking to a spot on public land. The 22-inch barrel is threaded 5/8×24, so you can tuck a suppressor on it without adding too much length. Our staff noted that it pairs well with the extended slide release for faster reloads, though that’s more of a range convenience than a hunting necessity.
Customers have put this rifle through its paces at the Crane ranges, and feedback is consistent: it shoots sub-MOA with factory match ammo. Out of 38 buyers, we’ve averaged a 4.7 out of 5 rating. One guy brought his back after 200 rounds because the stock screws loosened up—we torqued them to spec and he hasn’t had issues since. That’s the kind of thing we catch during our pre-ship inspection now.

The Bergara is heavier and cheaper—good for a bench gun but not for a long walk in the woods. The Tikka is lighter than the Bergara but still heavier than the Christensen, and it doesn’t come threaded. If you want a lightweight rifle that’s ready for a suppressor, the Ridgeline FFT is the pick.
The Good and the Bad
✅ Pros
- Lightweight build: At 5.6 lbs measured on our scale, it’s easy to carry all day. We took it up to Brown County and it didn’t wear us out.
- Threaded barrel: Factory-threaded 5/8×24, which is the standard for .30 cal cans. We tested it with a SiCo Omega 300 and it cycled fine.
- Accuracy: In our testing, we shot 1/2-inch groups at 100 yards with Federal Gold Medal Match 168 grain. Customers report similar results.
- Finish durability: The burnt bronze Cerakote has held up on our demo model through hundreds of rounds and multiple cleanings. No rust or wear.
- Trigger: Adjustable down to 2.5 lbs. We set it at 3 lbs for our range test and it broke clean with no creep.
- Customer satisfaction: 4.7 out of 5 across 38 buyers. Only one return for a minor issue we now check for.
❌ Cons
- Price: At $2,295.99, it’s not cheap. You’re paying for the carbon fiber and lightweight design.
- Stock screw tension: We had one customer report loose stock screws after 200 rounds. We now check and locktite them before shipping.
- Magazine capacity: Only comes with a 3-round magazine. If you’re hunting in states that allow more, you’ll need to buy extras.
Who It’s For
Buy if:
- You’re a hunter who walks miles in the woods and wants a rifle that won’t weigh you down.
- You plan to use a suppressor and want a factory-threaded barrel.
- You value sub-MOA accuracy out of a lightweight package.
- You like the look of burnt bronze Cerakote and want a finish that lasts.
Skip if:
- You’re on a tight budget—this is a premium rifle.
- You need a heavy barrel for prolonged strings of fire at the range.
- You prefer a wood stock or a traditional blued finish.
- You don’t want to deal with the minor upkeep of carbon fiber components.
What Buyers Ask
Is the barrel truly carbon fiber wrapped?
Yes. Christensen uses a carbon fiber wrap over a steel liner. We’ve inspected several and the wrap is consistent with no voids or delamination. It keeps the weight down without sacrificing strength.
Does it come with a thread protector?
Yes, it includes a thread protector installed at the factory. We also check that it’s tight before shipping—one of the things we caught in our QC.
What twist rate is the barrel?
1:10 inch twist. That works well for .30-06 bullets from 150 to 180 grains, which covers most hunting and match loads.
How does the trigger adjust?
There’s a hex screw inside the trigger shoe. Use a 2mm Allen wrench to adjust pull weight from 2.5 to 4 lbs. We set ours at 3 lbs for testing and it worked well.
Where can I buy Christensen online?
Indiana Gunshop stocks this model. We have it in our Indianapolis warehouse and ship same business day before 3 PM. We’ve sold 76 of these and our return rate is under 3%.
Is this rifle good for a left-handed shooter?
The stock action is right-handed. Christensen does make left-handed models, but this specific FFT version is right-hand only. You’d need to check with us for lefty availability.
Does the burnt bronze finish scratch easily?
Cerakote is durable, but it’s not indestructible. Our demo model has been handled by dozens of customers and has no scratches. If you drop it on rocks, it may chip. That’s true of any painted finish.
