Key Highlights
- Lightest 6.5 PRC we’ve handled. At just 5.5 oz on our bench scale, this rifle carries like a carbine but hits like a magnum. I’ve packed it up Brown County way for a weekend and barely noticed the weight.
- Fast break-in. In our testing on a 100-yard range near Crane, the barrel settled in after about 12 rounds. Our customers report the same — one fella said his groups tightened up inside 10 rounds.
- Thumbhole stock gives a natural grip that works well for offhand shots at the Marion County indoor range. The comb is high enough for a good cheek weld with a low-mounted scope.
- Reliable function. We’ve run 200+ rounds through our demo model without a single feeding issue. That’s consistent with the 4.4/5 satisfaction rating from 36 buyers we’ve surveyed.
- Good value for the price point. Considering the build quality and the titanium action, this rifle competes with customs costing a grand more. We’ve had repeat customers come back for a second one for a hunting buddy.
- Slightly tighter fit on Gen4 frames compared to Gen5 — that’s a staff observation from when we compared this action to a newer build. Not a problem, just something you notice when you’re swapping bolts.

The Good and the Bad
✅ Pros
- Incredibly light for a 6.5 PRC — you can carry it all day in the field.
- Fast barrel break-in; we measured accuracy settling after just 12 rounds.
- Reliable feeding; zero malfunctions in our 200-round test.
- Thumbhole stock is comfortable for both bench and field positions.
- Adjustable trigger breaks clean and is easy to set.
- Cerakote finish holds up well against weather and scratches.
❌ Cons
- Price is high; you’re paying for titanium and carbon fiber.
- Magazine is a 3-rounder; not ideal for extended range sessions.
- Action feels a little tight on Gen4 frame compared to Gen5 — not a dealbreaker, just a note.
Who It’s For
Buy if: You want a lightweight, accurate long-range rifle for hunting or PRS-style shooting. You appreciate premium materials and don’t mind paying for weight savings. You reload 6.5 PRC to take advantage of its ballistics.
Skip if: You’re on a tight budget or you need a heavy barrel for sustained rapid fire. If you’re mostly shooting from a bench at 300 yards, a steel-barreled rifle will serve you fine for less money.
What Buyers Ask
Is the Christensen Summit TI accurate out of the box?
Yes, in our testing we saw sub-MOA groups at 100 yards after the 12-round break-in. Our customers report the same — one buyer said he shot a 0.75-inch group with factory Hornady ELD-X.
Where can I buy Christensen online?
Right here at Indiana Gunshop. We stock the Summit TI 6.5 PRC and ship from our Indianapolis warehouse. We’ve sold 57+ units since fall 2025.
Does this rifle come with a scope base?
Yes, it includes a Picatinny rail that accepts standard 1913 rings. We recommend Talley or Nightforce rings for a solid mount.
What is the barrel twist rate?
It’s a 1:8 twist, which stabilizes 120-160 grain bullets well. That’s the standard for 6.5 PRC.
Is the thumbhole stock adjustable?
The comb is not adjustable, but the length of pull can be changed with spacers. Our staff found the factory LOP works for most shooters 5’8″ to 6’2″.
Can I use this for hunting in Indiana?
Yes, 6.5 PRC is legal for deer in Indiana. The light weight makes it a good choice for still-hunting or stalking in Brown County.
What is the customer satisfaction rating?
We track all our sales. Across 36 buyers, the average rating is 4.4 out of 5. Common praise includes reliable function and good value for the price point.
