Does this come with the X-Five grip or the AXG grip?
This is the AXG model, which uses SIG’s aluminum X-Five grip module. It’s different from the polymer X-Five grip — the AXG is heavier, more rigid, and has a more aggressive texture. It’s the same grip found on the full-size P320 AXG models, but in a compact 4.6-inch barrel length.
Can I swap the grip module for a different one?
Yes, the P320 fire-control unit is fully modular. You can remove the FCU and install any standard P320 grip module (full-size, carry, compact, X-series, etc.). The AXG grip uses the same takedown lever and slide catch as other P320s, so swapping is straightforward. Note that the AXG grip is wider than polymer grips, so holster fit may vary.
Is the packaging really that flimsy?
Staff note: The product itself is perfect — fit, finish, and function are all top-notch. But the box is flimsy. It’s a thin cardboard sleeve with a plastic tray inside. If you’re buying this as a gift or want to keep the box for storage, just be aware it’s not as robust as SIG’s older hard cases. We recommend storing the pistol in a proper safe or case regardless.
