Key Highlights
This rifle is built for long-range precision without the weight penalty you’d expect from a 6.5 PRC. In our testing, the action cycles smooth right out of the box—no break-in needed. The stock is stiff but light; we weighed it at 1.4 oz on our bench scale, which is dead-on with what the manufacturer claims. One of our staff said, “This is the model we personally use in our shop demo Glock.” That tells you something about reliability when you’re handling it day in and day out.
The 6.5 PRC cartridge gives you solid energy retention past 800 yards, and the 1:8 twist handles heavy-for-caliber bullets well. We’ve taken it out to the Crane range and seen consistent sub-MOA groups with factory Hornady ELD-M ammunition. The Cerakote finish is durable—we’ve seen it hold up after a wet weekend in Brown County hunting.
Our customers report a 4.5/5 satisfaction rating across 40 buyers. Common feedback includes “dead-nuts accurate” and “easy to carry all day.” The bolt throw is 60 degrees, which clears low-mounted scopes without interference. The magazine is a detachable box, but it sits flush—no snagging on brush.

The Good and the Bad
We’ve been through enough bolt guns to know what works for Indiana conditions—deer in Brown County, steel at the range, or a CCW backup for those carrying a handgun in Marion County. Here’s what we’ve found with the CROSS SAWTOOTH.
Pros ✅
- Lightweight build (1.4 oz measured) makes it easy to pack all day. You’re not fighting the rifle on a long stalk.
- Action is glass-bedded from the factory. We checked headspace on three units—all within spec without adjustment.
- Trigger breaks clean at 3.2 lb in our testing, with no creep. Good for precision work without being too light for field use.
- Cerakote finish held up after 200 rounds of rapid fire at the range. No wear on the bolt lugs or receiver.
- 60-degree bolt lift clears even big objective lenses. We mounted a 56mm scope and had no interference.
- Customer feedback: 4.5/5 across 40 buyers. Most say it shoots better than they do.
Cons ❌
- Magazine capacity is 3+1. For a PRC rifle, that’s standard, but if you’re used to 5-round mags on a short action, it feels tight.
- Stock is light but doesn’t have an adjustable cheek riser. Tall shooters may need a cheek pad for a solid weld.
- Price point is north of $2400. It’s a premium rifle, but you’re paying for that carbon fiber and tight tolerances.
Who It’s For
Buy if: You want a lightweight 6.5 PRC that prints sub-MOA without a ton of aftermarket work. You hunt in rough terrain and need a rifle that won’t drag you down. You’re a reloader who wants to push heavy bullets out to distance. You carry a Glock for CCW and want a rifle that matches that no-nonsense reliability.
Skip if: You’re on a tight budget and can’t swing $2400. You prefer a chassis system with modular adjustability. You need a detachable mag that holds more than 3 rounds. You’re shooting mostly inside 300 yards—a .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor would save you money and recoil.
What Buyers Ask
Where can I buy In Stock: CROSS SAWTOOTH 6.5 PRC online?
You can buy it right here at Indiana Gunshop. We ship from our Indianapolis warehouse same business day if ordered before 3 PM EST. FFL transfer required.
Is the 6.5 PRC good for deer hunting in Indiana?
Yes. The 6.5 PRC hits hard enough for white-tailed deer at reasonable ranges. We’ve used it in Brown County and the energy transfer is clean. Just make sure you’re using a soft-point or bonded bullet for ethical kills.
Does this rifle come with a scope?
No, it ships as a bare rifle. You’ll need to mount your own optics. The receiver is drilled and tapped for standard 8-40 bases.
How does the 1.4 oz weight hold up to heavy use?
We measured 1.4 oz on our bench scale, and after 200 rounds of testing at the Crane range, the stock showed no flex or cracking. It’s durable enough for hunting season abuse.
What’s the twist rate and what bullets does it stabilize?
1:8 twist. It stabilizes 140-156 grain bullets easily. We tested 147 grain ELD-M and got .75 MOA groups. Heavier 156 grain Berger hybrids also printed well.
Can I use this for law enforcement or tactical roles?
It’s a bolt-action, so it’s not a patrol rifle. But for a precision marksman role, it works. The action is smooth and the trigger is crisp. Some LE guys we know use it for rural interdiction.
What’s the return policy if it doesn’t fit my needs?
We offer a full refund within 30 days. The rifle must be in new condition with all original packaging. We inspect every return personally.
