Description
The New Mac 1911 Bobcut is a lightweight, compact 1911 chambered in .380 ACP, built for everyday carry and range use. It’s a straight shooter for folks who want 1911 ergonomics in a smaller package. Since spring 2025, we’ve had these on our shelves, and they’ve got a low return rate — customers get exactly what they expect. Staff note: we sell more of these on weekends, range day purchases mostly. It’s a solid, no-nonsense piece.

What Buyers Ask
Does this use standard 1911 magazines?
No — the Bobcut uses a proprietary 6-round magazine designed for the compact frame. It’s a single-stack, and we stock replacements if you need extras.
Is the bobtail cut really noticeable when carrying?
Yes, especially if you carry IWB. The bobtail reduces the grip length and rounds the heel, so it prints less and doesn’t jab you when you sit or bend. Customers who’ve carried both say it’s a real improvement for concealment.
Will this run hollow points reliably?
We’ve tested a few boxes of common defensive JHPs (Federal HST, Hornady Critical Defense) through the display model. It fed and ejected fine with those. That said, always run a box of your carry ammo through any new gun to confirm reliability.
