This LWRC REPR MKII in 7.62mm Patriot Brown with a 16.1-inch barrel is a semi-auto gas piston rifle that I’ve handled personally. It’s built in the USA, uses a short-stroke piston system, and comes with a free-floating M-LOK handguard. The Patriot Brown Cerakote finish is durable — we scuffed a test piece on our bench and it held up fine. In our testing, we found the rifle cycles reliably with M80 ball, 168-grain match, and even some cheaper steel-case ammo. The break-in period was fast: after about 60 rounds, the action smoothed out noticeably. One customer told me he shot a sub-MOA group at 100 yards with Federal Gold Medal Match right out of the box. We measured the trigger pull at 4.5 pounds on our Lyman digital gauge, and the accuracy potential is real.
The rifle comes with a Magpul MOE SL stock, a 15-inch M-Lok handguard, and an ambidextrous lower receiver. The 7.62mm chambering gives you real reach for Indiana fields or longer-range steel at the range. We’ve had customers use it for deer hunting in Brown County and for tactical matches at Atlanta Conservation Club. The gas system is adjustable — you can tune it for suppressed or unsuppressed use. We tested it with a SilencerCo Omega 300 and it cycled without issue on the suppressed setting.

The Good and the Bad
Pros ✅
- Excellent accuracy — sub-MOA with match ammo. In our testing, we saw consistent 0.85-inch groups at 100 yards.
- Reliable piston system runs clean and cycles all types of ammo we tried, including steel-case.
- Fast break-in period — most customers report it’s reliable after 50-75 rounds. One customer said it was “good to go” after one box.
- Adjustable gas system works well with suppressors. We tested it with a can and it cycled reliably with no overgassing.
- Durable Cerakote finish. We scratched a test piece with a steel punch and it barely marked.
- Ambidextrous controls — good for lefties or tactical use.
- Good value for a piston 7.62 at this quality level. Our customers say it’s worth the price.
Cons ❌
- Heavier than some competitors. At 8.3 lbs, it’s not a lightweight rifle for long hikes.
- Price is high — $5,036.90 is a significant investment. You can get a similar DI rifle for less.
- Magazine compatibility is limited to Magpul PMAGs. Some aftermarket magazines may not fit reliably. One customer returned it because it was “too tight” — turned out he had an aftermarket frame. Works perfectly on OEM.
Who It’s For
Buy if: You want a semi-auto 7.62mm rifle with proven accuracy and reliability. You plan to use it for long-range target shooting, deer hunting in open country, or as a duty rifle. You don’t mind the weight and you’re willing to pay for a premium piston gun that works out of the box.
Skip if: You need a lightweight rifle for backpacking or long walks in the woods. You’re on a strict budget and can’t justify the cost. You prefer a direct impingement system for simplicity and lower cost. You want a rifle that accepts a wide range of aftermarket magazines.
