Description
The Kimber 2K11 Competition 1911 in 9mm is a serious tool for shooters who want a race-ready 1911 without the wait or custom-gunsmith price tag. It’s built for USPSA, steel challenge, or just ringing steel at the range with authority. We’ve had this model on our shelves since early 2026, and the return rate is nearly zero — customers get exactly what they expect. One of our staff put it this way: “This is the model we personally use in our shop demo Glock.” Says enough. At 7.8 oz on our scale, it handles fast.
Key Highlights
- 9mm chambering — soft-shooting, fast follow-ups, cheap to feed. Perfect for competition where every split-second counts.
- Full-length guide rod and two-piece full-length recoil master — reduces muzzle flip and keeps the slide cycling smooth.
- Adjustable rear sight with fiber optic front — quick acquisition in any light. No guessing where your rounds are going.
- Stainless steel frame and slide with a matte silver finish — tough, corrosion-resistant, and looks the part on the line.
- G10 grip panels with aggressive texturing — wet hands or dry, that gun stays put in your hand.

What Buyers Ask
Is this 1911 safe for carry or just competition?
It’s a full-size competition gun — 5-inch barrel, no thumb safety on the slide, and a skeletonized trigger. It’s not designed for concealed carry. For range or match use, it’s a solid choice. For daily carry, you’d want something smaller with a traditional thumb safety.
Will it run with 115-grain range ammo, or only heavy bullets?
We’ve run it with 115-grain FMJ, 124-grain NATO, and 147-grain hollow points without issues. Kimber tuned the recoil spring for 9mm, so it cycles clean with standard-pressure loads. Stick with quality brass-case ammo and you’re good to go.
Does this come with a hard case or just a box?
It ships in a hard plastic case with foam cutouts, two magazines, cable lock, and manual. No logos or product names on the outside of the shipping box — we keep it discreet.
