• Reliable feeding — We ran 200 rounds of mixed ammo (M193, M855, 77-grain) with zero malfunctions. The rifle-length gas system helps with reliability.
• Good sight compatibility — We tested with Trijicon and AmeriGlo sights, and the rifle held zero after disassembly and reassembly.

What Could Improve ❌

• Trigger pull weight — The SSA-E breaks at 3.5 pounds, which is light for a duty rifle. Some customers at the Crane range mentioned they prefer a 4.5-pound break for field use.
• Price point — At $2,799.99, this rifle sits in a premium bracket. It’s not a budget option, and the cost reflects the FN name and the Geissele trigger.
• No iron sights included — The DMR3 ships without sights. You’ll need to budget for a set of flip-up irons or an optic.

Buy if you want a factory-built DMR that shoots sub-MOA out of the box, you value a Geissele trigger and a cold-hammer-forged barrel, and you need a rifle that runs reliably with match ammo. It’s a solid choice for a Marion County CCW course or a weekend match at the local range.

Skip if you’re on a tight budget, you need a rifle for close-quarters work, or you prefer a heavier caliber like 7.62 NATO. The 5.56 round is effective to 600 yards, but it lacks the energy of a .308 at longer distances.
